Commemorating the 73rd Anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, this Peace Memorial is a free event and open to public.
The program will consist of a theatrical presentation, highlighted with hula kahiko, a Message of Peace, a music dedication, and Paper Lantern Ceremony of Peace. Featured performers include Ahura Z Diliiza, Nirakazi Diliiza, Miwako Chimura, Miyako Tsubota, Roxanne Morse, Juri Ify Love, Jaden Onwuakor, Kids Sing and the Canticum Vespertium (Night Song). Visual Artists include Iris Du Pont , Ikumi Kondo , Mari Ishiko and Hiroshima 7Rivers Photography Club.
There will be a limited number of pre-made lanterns available at the event, but you can also make your own paper lantern to use during the Paper Lantern Ceremony of Peace. Using a 16.9 fl oz water bottle as a base, place a battery-operated tealight candle inside, and wrap it with your message written on a sheet of letter-size off-white/cream-colored paper.

You can help fund the 2nd annual "Hiroshima-Nagasaki Peace Memorial Service" in Boston! This production is aimed to cultivate love and peace, and we can all be a part of it.
Mariko Kanto attended and volunteered at the "Peace Gathering" in New York City in 2016, and was was so moved and inspired by the message of the event that she decided to organize the same event in her hometown of Boston, MA: the 2017 "Hiroshima-Nagasaki Peace Memorial Service" in Boston, produced with her theater company, Actors Refuge Repertory Theatre (ARRT).
