The Japanese American Citizens League invites you to a talk and discussion with Smithsonian Institution Museum of American History curator Noriko Sanefuji. Noriko Sanefuji is the curator of “Righting a Wrong:  The Japanese-American Experience in World War II.” Noriko will discuss the back story on creation of this major exhibit, showing at the Smithsonian Museum of American History through December 8, 2018. She will also discuss some of her previous projects,  exhibitions that have cut across the Asian America experience. These include” Sweet and Sour: The Americanization of the Chinese Restaurant” (2010);  “Creating Hawai`I” (2009); “Barriers to Bridges:  Asian American Immigration”  (2008); ”Commemorating the 30th anniversary of the end of the Southeast Asian War for the United States and the beginning of major growth in Vietnamese American communities” (2007-2010);  “Exhibition commemorating the centennial of large-scale recruitment of sugar plantation workers to Hawaii from the Philippines and the beginning of the Filipino American community” (2006); and  “On Gold Mountain: A Chinese American Experience” (May–September 2001).
