Showa Boston Annual O-bon Event

SHOWA BOSTON
420 Pond Street
Boston, MA 02130

Thursday, August 24th, from 5 - 7:15pm

Mark your calendar and start thinking of a Japanese inspired summer event on the Showa Boston Front Lawn and the picnic dinner you might want to bring. Showa will provide the kakigori (Japanese sno-cones), popcorn, water, and mugicha (Japanese barley tea)!

O-bon is the annual Japanese summer custom of honoring the spirit of one's ancestors.  The O-bon customs are not somber, but done in a festive and celebratory mood.

This will be a fun picnic-style event complete with traditional Japanese summer festival games and O-bon activities such as Bon Odori dancing.
