On one night in each year the Girl Weaver and Cowherd meet at the Milky Way. Tanabata is a festival from Japanese culture also known as The Star Festival. Join the Five College Center for East Asian Studies along with the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art and the Jones Library for an evening of bilingual stories (in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean), activities, crafts, and snacks celebrating culture from Japan, Korea, and China. There will be a special appearance by storyteller Motoko. Make a wish to send to the stars, and hear stories of star-crossed love.
