After the nuclear disaster in Fukushima in March 2011, some of the early-stage facility recon and cleanup was undertaken by robots. What few people realize is that the robotic "first responders" were in fact donated by our own Boston-based iRobot. Roy Rondoe was working for iRobot in Japan at the time and will share the inside story of cooperation between Japan and the US by way of robots. Roy is an expert in the use of robots for disaster relief and has lived in Japan for many years.

Each month, our Brown Bag series brings a speaker to share their unique Japan-influenced expertise or Japan experience with us. The purpose is for us to share a lively discussion about Japan together. The event is always free and open to the public. Bring a lunch if you like.
