Meet Masanori Murakami - Japan’s First Major Leaguer, and Book Signing
June 29, 2015 7pm-9pm
Royal Rooters Club in Fenway Park
Free Admission
Here is a great opportunity to meet a former player who played an important role in baseball history. Masanori Murakami, a native of Yamanashi, Japan, pitched for the San Francisco Giants in 1964 and 1965.
The event will begin with a short clip by filmmaker Yuriko Gamo Romer, from her upcoming documentary "Diamond Diplomacy: U.S. Japan Relations Through a Shared Love of Baseball." Following a discussion on that topic, Murakami and his biographer, Robert Fitts, will speak about Murakami's career and his experience as Japan’s first Big Leaguer. Afterwards, "Mashi" will meet with fans and sign copies of his biography.
Mashi will sign copies of his biography for free (the book is $25). Other autographs will be $25 each. Registration required.
Royal Rooters Club Entrance is at the corner of Ipswich and Van Ness Streets, next to Gates B. contact: info@japansocietyboston.org
