Ambassador Takeo Iguchi, Professor Emeritus, Shobi Gakuen University and Former Japanese Ambassador to New Zealand. Ambassador Iguchi was born in 1930 in Shanghai to a Japanese diplomatic family. He was living in Washington, DC, where his father worked in the Japanese Embassy in December 1941. Ambassador Iguchi received his BA from the Law Faculty of Tokyo University and his MA from Oxford University. He subsequently served in the Japanese Foreign Ministry for 40 years, including posts in the Japanese Mission to the UN, Consul General in Boston, and Ambassador to New Zealand. He retired from the Foreign Ministry in 1993 and embarked on an academic career, working as a Professor at at Tokai University Law School, International Christian University, and Shobi Gakuen University in Japan (1993-2004). In 1986-87, he served as a Visiting Professor at the University of Virginia School of Law.
